Park Capacity Information

Madison Blue Springs State Park experiences frequent closures between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekends and holidays due to high visitation. The park closes when it reaches capacity but may reopen to additional visitors at a later time that day. For their safety, visitors are not permitted to park and wait in their cars on the side on the road or in the park entrance area for the park to reopen. Local law enforcement will issue citations if violations of this are witnessed.

$4 to $5 per vehicle. $2 pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers.

Welcome to Madison Blue Spring State Park

This crystal-clear, first-magnitude spring is a popular spot for swimming and cave diving.


About 82 feet wide and 25 feet deep, the spring bubbles up into a limestone basin along the west bank of the Withlacoochee River. Scenic woodlands of mixed hardwoods and pines create a picturesque setting for picnicking, paddling and wildlife viewing.

Voted the No. 1 swimming hole in the country by USA Today, Madison Blue Spring is a family favorite destination and a fantastic place to spend the day.

This charming swimming spot located between Lee and Jasper is a community favorite. In addition to swimming, the park offers a spacious day-use area that includes picnic pavilions, grills and a volleyball court.
