Florida Keys Sea Base Boy Scout Troops
This group is the recipient of the 2023 Volunteer Award for a Short Project in Natural Resources.
Over 1,000 Sea Base Boy Scouts cleaned up Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park, collecting 12,972 pounds of marine debris. Partnering with park and coastal protection staff, they kayaked miles, braving heat and bugs. Their efforts restored the island post-Hurricane Irma and earned them a SCENE merit badge.
